Teddington, UK – The UK’s National Physical Laboratory (NPL) offers a UKAS-accredited thermocouple calibration service (laboratory number 0478) for platinum-rhodium thermocouples using freezing points of zinc, silver and copper (up to 1100 °C) and the melting points of gold and palladium (up to 1600 °C). (Type B thermocouples are calibrated from 400 °C)
NPL also supplies calibrated platinum-rhodium thermocouples from stock. These are made from wires assembled into insulators and calibrated up to either 1100 °C or 1600 °C.
The wires are 0.5 mm in diameter and 1500 mm long, and the thermocouples can be purchased with or without cold-junction attachments to copper extension leads, and an alumina protection tube.
