Some Thermoelectric-Related Publications and Presentations of R. P. Reed, Ph.D., P.E.
Among the large body of in-depth technical work existing in the published literature are many technical papers related to temperature sensors and their use. They are often published in a variety of journals and in-house reports. Generally they are not well cataloged.
Here we have a list of papers, presentations and related reports published on measurements and thermocouples by one noted worker in the field, Dr. Ray P. Reed.
Ray has in recent years retired from Sandia Laboratories and runs a consulting service in New Mexico USA, near Albuquerque. His email address is at the bottom of the page.
He is perhaps most well known among his fellow ASTM E20 Committee (on Temperature Measurement) as a guru on inhomogeneities in thermocouples. This is a most difficult effect to quantify and it was his genius in design and analysis coupled with the diligent efforts of Willard Bauserman of NASA Langley that resulted in the first practical lab device that could be used to precisely and repeatably demonstrate quantifiable errors in thermocouples due to the effect.
Thanks to Ray for allowing us to publish this list.
