Triple Point Cells (1 & 2) from NPL’s Video

Explanation of Triple Point Cells with Dr R. L. Rusby of The UK’s National Physical Laboratory – Part One

In the International Temperature Scale of 1990 (ITS90), the freezing point of water has been replaced by the Triple Point of water, which is a very small temperature difference away, but it is more highly reproducible. That is an ideal requirement for a temperature scale fixed point and is part of the reason it was changed.

But that’s not the only place one may find a triple point for temperature sensor calibration or verification as further explained in the second part of this pair of videos.
